Notes

These statistics for population, land area, etc. in Australia (undated) and farming notes for Australia are separate papers found with the diary written by Abner Burrough who emigrated with his wife Elizabeth to Australia in 1853 and returned to Broad Chalke in 1860 so they are assumed to be written by him as his brothers seemed to have had settled jobs in Broad Chalke and Bowerchalke.

The reference to the Emigrants' Almanac of 1849 for the data for the USA on the other side of a page means that he may have written these before his emigration and the farming notes seem to indicate research either before or during his time in Australia. This diary is pinned with statistics for New South Wales dated 1853 when he was in Australia, but even these could have been written after his return in 1860. Other diaries with statistics have dates after his return so it's not entirely clear when these were written.
